RLP® Designation

Kinder Institute RLP® designees are financial advisors, planners, and other industry professionals who want to move beyond the traditional – and too often merely transactional – model of financial advising.

Three Courses, One Designation

Deliver the greatest meaning in your life and the lives of your clients by developing the relationship-based skills and using our signature structured interview process that puts life at the center of financial planning.

The Registered Life Planner designation is earned upon completion of three courses.

Professionals may begin the coursework to become an RLP by taking either EVOKE® Life Planning Training or The Seven Stages of Money Maturity® Training. The Life Planning Mentorship can be taken only after completing an EVOKE course.

The Life Planning Advantage

Professionals who earn the RLP designation seek deeper, more nuanced, more comprehensive, and more lasting relationships with clients. They help clients create the greatest meaning and value in their lives by guiding them through changing individual circumstances and emerging goals.

RLP designees know financial well-being is a means to several ends, not an end in itself. They want to help clients meet financial goals in service of life’s other, more important goals, whether they involve career and retirement, family life, professional or personal development, community engagement, spirituality, travel–or so much more.

A Registered Life Planner doesn’t just dispense canned financial advice, they create, cultivate, and deliver on a sustained relationship with clients, putting their unique needs at the heart of financial planning.

"In order to deepen relationships with clients, I chose the Kinder Institute to train me how to listen to their hearts. Life Planning is a valuable tool to manage the time spent getting to know clients."
